How long does it take to get a new driveway?
This is a common question that customers have in mind when building a new driveway. When clients choose to use our driveway services, we strive to provide them as much information as possible. We realise that building a new driveway is a complex process, which can disrupt your daily routine. We aim to provide accurate timelines so you can get back to your routine with minimal disruption.
Every driveway is unique, so the installation timeline varies from project to project. In this post, we look at the various stages of your driveway installation project.
Consultation: 1 to 2 days
Within 24 hours of your call, we will schedule an on-site inspection and consultation with an experienced driveway expert. We will assess the soil conditions, measure the driveway, discuss your options and answer your questions. We will then provide a written estimate for the job based on the options you have chosen.
Approval and Permits: 2 to 4 weeks
Once you decide to use our driveway services, we will provide written confirmation outlining the terms of the project. Based on our project load we will start your project within 2 to 4 weeks. In the meantime, we will procure all the necessary permits from the local council.
Driveway Excavation: 1 to 3 days
Using the latest equipment, we will excavate the site for the sub-base. The exact timeline of this process depends on a variety of factors including the size and depth of the driveway, the elevation, the digging method, the existing surface material and the weather.
Paving: 1 to 2 days
Once the driveway has been excavated, we will place the sub-base, smoothen it and compact it. We will then begin to pave your driveway, which involves laying down a smooth, even layer of concrete.
Initial Curing: 3 to 7 days
It’s important to note that the driveway material must be allowed to sit before it becomes usable. For the next 3 to 7 days, you must keep all vehicles off your new driveway. We will place warning tape alerting visitors to keep off the driveway.
